AC Milan Targets Zemura In January Transfer Window
AC Milan is working on a potential approach for Zimbabwe Warriors and Udinese left-back Jordan Zemura as they look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
According to Alessandro Vescini of TuttoUdinese, Milan has been impressed by Udinese wing-back Jordan Zemura whom they believe has the qualities that suit their requirements for Theo Hernandez’s backup in the left-back position.
Hernandez, the 27-year-old French international is currently a top target for Manchester United in the January transfer window alongside Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies as United’s new boss Ruben Amorim prioritized the search for a left-back at Old Trafford to boost his squad.
This has however prompted AC Milan to go into the market in search of a top wingback to cover the position in case Hernandez leaves the club.
Zemura has emerged as the favorite among several other profiles and the Serie A giants are reportedly targeting to secure him immediately to then have him integrated into the squad starting in June next year in preparation for the upcoming season.
The Zimbabwean left-back has been a key player for both club and country, helping Udinese to ninth place on the log with 17 points from 13 games just two points behind Milan who are in seventh position before playing a vital role in helping Zimbabwe Warriors qualify for their sixth Africa Cup of Nations final.
Zemura has played 11 Serie A matches for Udinese so far, scoring one goal and an assist, but has been immense in creating goal-scoring chances for the club due to his overlapping runs and has so far created two big chances in his 11 appearances.
For Zimbabwe, the athletic wing-back has registered two assists in six games and his performances were vital in ensuring qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
The former QPR, Charlton, and AFC Bournemouth star still has a contract with Udinese that runs until the summer of 2027.
