Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premiership Team Of The Season
The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (ZCPSL) has announced the Soccer stars of the year 2024, highlighting the top-performing players of the season.
Journalists, coaches, and club captains voted on Wednesday for the best-performing players in the just-ended season.
The Best XI features five players from Champions Simba Bhora, two from Caps United, one each from Yadah, Highlanders Dynamos, and Chicken Inn to complete the list.
In goal is Chicken Inn’s Bernard Donovan, who had 20 clean sheets more than any other goalie in the league took the title of Best Goalkeeper of the season.
On the right back there is Caps United’s Godknows Murwira who has been a key player for the club after moving from Dynamos.
The central defense is manned by Webstar Tafa and Blessing Moyo from Simba Bhora while Dynamos’ Emmanuel Jalai took the left-back position with Simba Bhora defender Isheanesu Mauchi linking the defense and midfield in a makeshift position.
Caps United’s rising teenage attacking midfielder Kingsley Mureremba who managed four goals and eight assists for the season and Simba Bhora’s Walter Musona with ten goals and ten assists occupy the wing positions.
Khama Billiat had an outstanding season with Yadah chipping in with 13 goals four behind Golden Boot winner Lynnoth Chikuhwa with 17 is the number ten linking up play in attack.
Highlanders forward Lynnoth Chikuhwa and Simba Bhora marksman Tymon Machope scored 17 goals and 12 goals respectively for the season and are the two center-forwards in this year’s Castle Lager Team Of The Season.
The Soccer Star of the Year including two runners-up, Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Fan’s Choice, as well as the Most Promising Player under the age of 20 will be announced at a banquet in Harare on the 6th of December.
