Jonah Fabisch Named Player Of The Season 2022/23

FC Magdeburg and Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder Jonah Fabisch was voted 2022/23 Player of the Season in the Regionalliga North after his performances with Hamburger SV II last season.

The North German Football Association (NFV) announced the awards for the past season in the Regionalliga North on their website with prizes for six categories up for grabs.

The 22-year-old Kenyan-born and German-based midfielder who committed his international career to Zimbabwe Warriors was voted ahead of Moritz Göttel and Elias Saad to win the “Player of the Season” award after leading Hamburger SV II U21s to runner-up in the Regionalliga North scoring eleven goals in 35 appearances.

The winners were honored at a small ceremony before the Bundesliga game between SV Werder Bremen and 1. FC Köln last Saturday evening.

Fabisch’s U21 coach Pit Reimers was voted coach of the year and VFB Lubeck goalkeeper Florian Kirschke was voted goalkeeper of the 2022/23 season.

Winners were presented with individual graphics that were created by the Berlin creative studio “Hands of God” and were handed over by NFV President Ralph-Uwe Schaffert.

Voting in the three categories of the men’s Regionalliga North was carried out by the coaches, the team captains and a sports journalist appointed by the club.
