Tarima Wins FA Youth Cup With West Ham

British-born Zimbabwe youngster Sean Tarima made history on Tuesday after completing a historical double by lifting the English Youth FA Cup with West Ham Under-18 for the first time since 1999 following their triumph in the under-18 premier league south division.

The 18-year-old center-back who is also comfortable to play further in the midfield was introduced in the 80th minutes as outstanding West Ham under-18s beat Jack Wilshire’s Arsenal u-18s 5-1 in the final at Emirates stadium to lift the FA Youth cup for the fourth time in the club’s history.

Tarima who was born in Newham, England to Zimbabwean parents and grew up around Romford, joined West Ham in 2013 as a nine-year-old after a spell with popular Sunday side Euro Dagenham.

Although he made his England U16s bow in the UEFA U16 development tournament at St George’s Park in October 2019, impressing in a 2-1 win over Norway, Tarima is still eligible to represent Zimbabwe in the future if he chooses to.

He made 17 appearances for the Claret and Blue under-18s in 2021/22 season and has already featured for the under-21s this season.

The young Hammers were crowned U18s premier league south division champions with two games in hand after leading the log table with 51 points from 20 games-15 points ahead of second placed Fulham.

The athletic center back has featured in 18 matches this season for the double champions and have won 26 of the 30 matches they have played this season in all competitions.

The young Hammers will play North division champions Manchester City in a play off fixture on a date to be announced.
