Senegal Hit By Fresh Covid-19 Cases Ahead Of Opening Game Against Zimbabwe
The Lions of Teranga’s preparations for the opening encounter against Zimbabwe Warriors on Monday have been dampened following reports of further Coronavirus cases in their camp.
The Senegalese team were forced to shift training base in the morning session from Bandjoum Stadium to the Tagidor complex after detecting few cases of Coronavirus.
Only sixteenth players from a squad of 28 attended Senegal’s third training session today.
Chelsea goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Turkish based forward Famara Diedhiou who arrived in Cameroon yesterday with the team, were missing in training due to suspected virus cases.
They join the long list of Senegalese players that includes Saliou Ciss, Bamba Dieng, Mame Baba Thiam, Pape Matar Sarr, Nampalyse Mendy and Alfred Gomis who are still holed-up in Senegal as they fail to recover from the virus.
Meanwhile Zimbabwe Warriors are without Jordan Zemura who is still holed up in the UK due to the virus.
They will play in their opening group B match at Kouekeng stadium on Monday.
