Nakamba Underwent Successful Knee Surgery
Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder Marvelous Nakamba Underwent a successful surgery on his left knee and has begun his recovery process the team announced.
The 27-year-old rejuvenated Aston Villa central midfielder, suffered an injury set-back five games into his new found form under former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard and will be out from 3-4 months.
This means Nakamba will return from between mid March to April 2022, missing the huge chunk of the remainder season.
His injury comes as a big blow to Steven Gerrard and Aston Villa who are looking ahead to a hectic schedule during the festive season and will be hugely missed.
“He’s had successful surgery,” said Gerrard.
“The surgeon is really happy with his operation and how it’s gone and now he’ll start his recovery process and recovery plan.
“He’s going to be missing for somewhere in the region of 12 weeks if it is a fantastic rehab or it could be up to 16 weeks,”
“It will be somewhere in the middle of 12-16 weeks, ” said the Aston Villa manager speaking ahead of his seventh premier league encounter with Aston Villa.
Nakamba has also been ruled out of the Africa cup of nations with Zimbabwe Warriors starting January next year.
