Zimbabwe Warriors Announced A Depleted AFCON Provisional Squad
Zimbabwe Warriors technical team have announced a severely depleted 30-man provisional squad for the 2021 African Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Cameroon between 9 January and 6 February.
The Squad which will be without several key players is expected to begin camp on the 23rd of December with the final 23-man squad due to be released on the 27th of December.
The midfield department is the most hit with both Nyasha Munetsi and Marvelous Nakamba ruled out through injuries.
In defence England based Brendan Galloway is out with an injury and Tendayi Darikwa has declared himself unavailable leaving the defence weakened.
The attacking department also lacks depth compounded by the absence of Warriors playmaker Khama Billiat who decided to call it a day.
However, Prince Dube who is touted to be Zimbabwe Warriors’ next top marksman after scoring eight goals in eleven appearances for the senior national team is back after missing in the recent world cup qualifiers due to injury and will be competing against Tino Kadewere David Moyo Admiral Muskwe and Knox Mutizwa to lead the Warriors line.
The exciting newboy Jordan Zemura who impressed in the world cup qualifiers against Ghana before picking up an injury, is also back and is expected to inspire the Warriors.
Bill Antonio who made a cameo debut for the Warriors against South Africa also made the list alongside nine other local based players.
