Pasuwa’s Nyasa Bullets Crowned 2021 TNM Super League Champions For The 3rd Time In A Row
Former Warriors and Dynamos coach Callisto Pasuwa has made history by becoming the first coach in Malawi to clinch three consecutive league titles in a row after crowned 2021 TNM Super League champions on Sunday.
Nyasa Big Bullets who won 3-0 on Saturday in their penultimate game against Kamuzu Barracks were done a big favor after Be Forward Wanderes placed third on the log lost 3-1 at home to Blue Eagles on Sunday to remain third on the log with 54 points from 29 games.
With second placed Silver Strikers having lost 2-0 to Moyale Barracks on Saturday, the result leaves Nyasa Big Bullets as Champions with K65 million richer and a game to spare.
PASUWA who won four consecutive league titles in Zimbabwe with Dynamos before moving to Malawi, becomes the first coach in that country to win three straight titles in a row ever since the inception of TNM Super League in 1986.
Silver Strikers are the only Malawian side to have won three titles in a row from 2011 to 2013, but have done it under different coaches.
Nyasa Big Bullets remain the most successful club in Malawi after winning their 15th title in the league.
This is Pasuwa’s seventh league title as a coach in a top flight league. He has become the most successful coach in both Zimbabwe and Malawi.
