How The Warriors Could Lineup Against Lesotho
The day we all have been waiting for is finally upon us. Zimbabwe Warriors will take on Lesotho at Orlando Stadium this afternoon in the third round of the 2026 World cup qualifiers to be co-hosted by United States of America, Canada and Mexico
Zimbabwe have two points after as much games and will be aiming for nothing but a win against Lesotho to boost their chances of a maiden qualification to the World cup.
They will play Bafana-Bafana in the fourth round on June 11 at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Lesotho though regarded as minnows on paper, posses a great threat to the Warriors’ ambitions as their performance have improved significantly over the past few months.
Coach Jairos Tapera who only had a limited time to assess the players he has on his disposal, will obviously select his first eleven basing hugely on experience and good combinations in the team.
Between the posts, Tapera will likely go for the tried and tested services of Chicken Inn’s goalie Bernard Donovan who has been with the Warriors for longer period than his competitors Martin Mapisa and Geofrey Chitsumba.

The defence, which have more reliable arsenal than the other departments in the squad will definitely be the back-born of the team.
Teenage Hadebe who returned in camp after excusing himself to go out and sign a contract with a new club, will likely marshall the defence alongside Munashe Garananga with Godknows Murwira and Gerald Takwara operating on the flanks.
In the absence of Marvelous Nakamba, Andrew Rinomhota’s industriousness and creativity will be of handy in the midfield partnered by Nyasha Munetsi with Jordan Zemura and Tawanda Maswanhise operating in wide areas.
The striking department, which proved to be the weakest in the past few games compared to other departments will likely be handed over to new boy Tawanda Chirewa partnering either Tinotenda Kadewere or another newcomer Tymon Machope in the absence of Walter Musona who might be rested after taking a knock during training.
Warriors Probable XI : Bernard Donovan, Godknows Murwira, Gerald Takwara, Munashe Garananga, Teenage Hadebe, Andrew Rinomhota, Tawanda Maswanhise, Nyasha Munetsi, Tinotenda Kadewere, Tawanda Chirewa, Jordan Zemura.
Formation (4-4-2) standard.
