One of the players in top form is Adam Chicksen, the experienced left-back has been amazing all season at Notts County and this could have been the perfect moment for him to shine in a Warriors shirt.

The 31-year-old capped off one of the finest seasons of his career in the English National League by helping Notts County return back to EFL football in four years after beating Chesterfield 4-3 on postmatch penalties after a 2-2 draw in the National League play-off finals at Wembley stadium on Saturday.

Chicksen stretched Notts County this season and helped them going forward whilst being solid when called on in defence playing a total of 48 games out of the team’s 48 games played this season. He chipped in with a very impressive 10 goals and provided assists for his teammates on two occasions.

The versatile defender who can play anywhere across the backline but prefers to play in his predominant position on the left-hand side- was a valuable player for County this season and helped them run Wrexham all the way, recording only three loses all season and amassed a historic 107 points in the National League behind Wrexham’s 111 points- totals never been achieved before in the history of the league.

To certify his outstanding season the England born Warriors international was also included in the English National League team of the season.

He was included alongside teammates Kyle Cameron, Matt Palmer, Ruben Rodriguez and Macauley Langstaff who scored 46 goals in the league to scoop the top goal scorer award plus the Player of the Season gong.
