Musona Caps A Successful Debut Season In Saudi Arabia
Former Zimbabwe Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona completed his first season in the Saudi Arabian top tier with Al Tai on a high after scoring and assisted in their 3-0 win on Monday
The 32-year-old attacking midfieder scored and assisted in the 76th and 87th minutes respectively after missing a penalty in the first half as Al-Tai beat Al-Hazm 3-0 to finish in the top half of the log in their first season back in the Saudi Arabian professional league.
Musona had an impressive season at Al-Tai and is hailed for the turnaround of the club from the bottom to a commandable sixth finish on the log with 37 points from 30 games.
The former Zimbabwe Warriors who surprisingly announced his retirement from international football in May 2022, arrived at the newly promoted Saudi Arabian premier league side in June 2021 from Belgian giants Anderletch.
The time he arrived – Al-Tai were languishing at the bottom of the table, but his performances helped the team to become one of the most formidable and competitive in the league.
It is one of Al-Tai ‘s best finish in the top tier ever since their first promotion to the Pro league during 1977-78 season. They’ ve spent 22 non-consecutive seasons in the top division.
Musona is among the top performers in the Saudi Arabian top tier this season having been included in the league’s team of the year with an overall rating of 7.36- third highest rating player in the league.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star is in the top five of the players with the most asssists in the Saudi Arabian Pro league and ranks on the eighth position for the big chances created, according to Sofarscore.
He remain one of the best forward to come out of Zimbabwe having had a glittering career with the national team, earning 51 caps and scoring 24 goals in the process.
