FC Platinum Returns From A Positive Trip In Luanda

FC Platinum have the upper hand in their Champions League qualifier with GD Sagrada Esperanca after coming away from a testing environment in Luanda with a 0-0 first-leg draw.

The Platinum miners who only had three weeks of training as a unit due to Covid-19 lock down in Zimbabwe, put in a disciplined display to hold the Angolan giants despite playing with 10 men after Kelvin Mangiza received a second yellow card in the second half of the match.

The Norman Mapeza led side will fancy their chances of finishing off the Angolan giants when the teams clash again in the second leg at Barbourfields stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday 18th September.

The winners from after the second leg will go on to play the winner between Royal Leopards of Eswatini and ZESCO United from Zambia for a chance to progress to the Group stages of the competition.

Last season the Zimbabwe Champions failed to reach the group stages after they fell to Tanzanian champions Simba SC 4 – 1 on aggregate.

FC Platinum are now back home after departing Luanda yesterday soon after the match.
