Bonne Named Player Of The Month For August

Zimbabwe Warriors prospective forward Macauley Bonne has won his first Ipswich Town Player of the Month award, after a blistering start to his career in the English Football league one.

The 25-year-old former Queens Park Rangers striker, who joined the club in June on a season long loan, was the clear winner in a poll on the club’s Twitter page, with 56% votes ahead of colleagues Kyle Edwards (33%), Rakeem Harper(7%) and Kane Vincent-Young (4%).

Bonne scored three goals in the month of August after featuring in four out of five football league one matches for the Blues so far this season.

The former Zimbabwe Under-23 striker scored his debut goal in a dramatic late equliser against Morecambe on the 7th of August before banging a brace in a man of the match performance against Milton Keynes Dons on the 21st of August.

His opening goal against MK Dons was voted goal of the month ahead of winning the Player of the month award.

He was called up for Zimbabwe Warriors World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia, but the Blues frontman failed to travel after the EFL agreed not to release players from UK’s ‘red list’ countries where Zimbabwe is also part of the list.
