Nyasha Mushekwi once again etched himself in the history books of Zhejiang after equalling Dino Ndlovu’s all-time scoring record on 42 goals for the club.
His opening goal in the 13th minutes in 1-all draw against Cangzhou Mighty Lions on Wednesday, puts the 35-year-old Zimbabwe veteran forward on level with South Africa’s Dino Ndlovu for the club’s all-time scoring record with 42 goals – leaving him one goal away from top spot.
Mushekwi has now scored five goals in eleven appearances for Zhejiang F. C so far this season and has the potential to surpass Ndlovu’s record who is now at Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League.
Ndlovu (32) who joined Zhejiang from Azerbaijani side Qarabag in 2018 broke the record which was previously held by Brazilian forward Anselmo Ramon in 2020 after scoring 42 goals in just 65 appearances to beat Ramon’s record of 41 goals in 88 appearances.
Mushekwi has been with Zhejiang since 2019 and has won the golden boot with the club in 2021 after scoring 23 goals in 32 matches as he helped the team gain promotion to Chinese Super League.
He is also the record all time top goal scorer at his first Chinese club Dalian Yifang.
