Zanda Siziba Off The Mark At Ipswich Town For The New Season
Ipswich Town midfielder Zandazenkosi Siziba got off the mark with his first goal of the campaign for the U21s in their 2-2 draw against Barnsley on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old Zimbabwe-born who can also play as a left-winger was on hand to poke the ball past Barnsley goalkeeper after a low corner delivery into the box to score his first goal of the season in his first premier league 2 start as the team leads 2-1 in the first half before a second half equaliser by Barnsley to force a 2-all draw.
The UK raised teenager joined Ipswich Town midway the 2018/19 season from Tottenham Hotspurs academy where he was highly rated, with the UK Mirror listing him among six of England’s great hopes.
Siziba whose style of play is compared to former Liverpool and now Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane is contracted to The Tractor boys until 2023 and has featured a lot for the first team after making his debut in 2021.
He is one of the two Zimbabwe Warriors prospects in Ipswich Town development side including forward Tawanda Chirewa who also featured in Tuesday’s game.
It was Siziba’s first appearance for the U21s in the premier league 2 for Town this season after missing the opening game against Wigan Athletic.
