Kundai Benyu Makes Injury Return For IBV

Zimbabwe Warriors midfieder Kundai Benyu made his return from a short-term injury for IB Vestmannaeyjar as they registered a 4-1 win against FH Hafnarfjordur on Sunday.

The 24-year-old box to box midfieder who can also play as a winger was introduced in the 40th minutes to mark his second appearance for the club since joining in July.

The Zimbabwean had a superb debut for IBV on the 2nd of July in a nil all draw against Breidablik Kopavogur, before suffering a knock that kept him on the sidelines for five weeks.

His injury was a big blow for IBV in their quest to stay in the Urvalsdeild karla (Icelandic top tier) after a poor start to the season.

Benyu was signed by IBV after impressing for Vestri IF in the Icelandic second tier last season and they’re hoping he will maintain his fitness for the remainder season to help the club nevigate far from the relagation zone.

IBV are currently nineth on the log with 15 points from 17 games.
