Belgian Pro League side KV Menchelen are set to sign Zimbabwe and Dynamos teenager star Bill Antonio after impressing on trial with the club.
The 19-year-old former Prince Edward High school winger, who left Zimbabwe for Belgium at the beginning of July for a one month trial period at KV Menchelen, reportedly ticked all the boxes since arriving at the club and is likely to put pen-to-paper in the coming days.
According to the Herald, the Dynamos youngster was in explosive form during his trial period and did not waste time to show his capabilities after scoring three goals in three games for the side during his trial period.
The Zimbabwean scored a wonder goal in his first game for the Antwerp based side just a day after his arrival and followed that up with another superb performance in an improtu practice match organised particularly for him, scoring his second goal before bagging a third goal in his third outing at the club.
The teenage star was scheduled to arrive back home yesterday, but the Belgian side is believed to have communicated their intention of signing the player to Dynamos and negotiations are reportedly underway.
The Belgian summer transfer window is open until September 3, and Antonio is hoping to have completed his deal by then.
He will become the first player to move from Dynamos to the Belgian side after the two club’s recent partnership.
Antonio is tipped to be Zimbabwe’s next big star having only made his top flight bow for Dynamos last year. He has already been capped once for the Zimbabwe national team.
