KADEWERE TARGETS UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WITH LYON
Zimbabwe Warriors hot shot Tinotenda Kadewere says he is determined to qualify for the UEFA Champions league with French giants Lyon this season.
The 24-year-old former Le Havre marksman who joined Lyon in 2019/20 season , missed out on the team’s last campaign as he was not registered for the prestigious European competition.
This season, Lyon’s ambitions to play in the Champions league were hampered following the premature ending of the 2019/20 Ligue1 season due to the Coronavirus as they ended on seventh position with 10 games left to complete the season.
But, this time around Kadewere is confident to achieve his dream.
“To be honest I want us to qualify for the Champions League,” said Kadewere
“It would be a dream. If we continue working hard, we have a chance of finishing first,” he said.
The Zimbabwean gunslinger has so far scored seven goals and provided four assists in 16 matches for Lyon.
If Lyon qualifies for the Champions league, Kadewere will join the list of other Zimbabwean players who have participated in the competition before that includes Bruce Grobbelaar, Norman Mapeza, Benjani Mwaruwari, Costa Nhamoinesu and Marvelous Nakamba.
