Jonah Fabisch Continues To Rise At Aue

Jonah Fabisch has been making significant strides at Bundesliga Division Three side FC Erzgebirge Aue, showcasing his talent and determination on the pitch. His performances have not only solidified his place in the starting lineup but have also sparked discussions about his potential return to the national team setup.

Breakthrough at Aue
This season, Fabisch has truly come into his own. His ability to control the midfield, distribute the ball effectively, and contribute defensively has made him an indispensable asset for Aue. With a string of consistent performances, he has earned a regular starting position, demonstrating his resilience and adaptability in a demanding league.

He has so far played in 21 league matches out of 38 since he joined the club in July 2024, and has been commanding a regular starting position in the first team from the beginning of the year 2025.

Fabisch’s playing style is characterized by his vision and passing accuracy, allowing him to orchestrate play from the midfield. He has developed a strong understanding with his teammates, often being the link between defense and attack. His work rate and commitment on the pitch have also endeared him to fans and coaching staff alike.

Impact on the Team
Aue’s recent success can be attributed, in part, to Fabisch’s contributions. His ability to break up opposition plays and initiate counter-attacks has provided Aue with a new dimension in their gameplay. As a result, the team has seen an uptick in performance, climbing up the log to position 13, accumulating 50 points from 38 games, with Fabisch often being at the heart of crucial plays.

His leadership qualities are also beginning to shine through, as he takes on more responsibility in guiding other players and influencing the team’s dynamics. This maturity, combined with his technical abilities, positions him as a future leader for Aue.

His performances in the third division have not gone unnoticed, and the upcoming friendly international matches against Burkina Faso and Niger in Morocco could be a perfect opportunity for the technical team to assess the rising midfielder.

Fabisch currently has one cap with the Zimbabwe Warriors. He was named in the Zimbabwe squad for World Cup qualifying matches against Bafana Bafana and Ethiopia in August 2021 before making his international debut on 14 November 2021 in a 1–1 draw against Ethiopia.
