Takudzwa Gwanzura Signs For Norwich City
Takudzwa Gwanzura has made a significant move in his young football career, transferring from League One side Blackpool FC to Championship club Norwich City after just one season.
The 16-year-old talented defender, who previously honed his skills in the youth ranks at Everton, is now set to take the next step in his development by joining Norwich’s under-21 squad.
Gwanzura’s time at Blackpool was marked by impressive performances that caught the attention of scouts and coaches alike. His ability to read the game, combined with his physical presence and technical skills, made him a standout player in the youth setup.
He made his senior debut for the Seasiders in the EFL Trophy, playing 45 minutes against Liverpool Under-21s.
Despite being relatively new to professional football, he demonstrated maturity beyond his years, showcasing a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
At Norwich City, Gwanzura will link up with fellow defender and compatriot Lucien Mahovo (19), who has been making waves with the senior team. Mahovo’s rise through the ranks serves as an inspiration for Gwanzura, who is eager to follow in his footsteps and make a name for himself in the Championship.
The move to Norwich City represents a significant step up for Gwanzura, as he aims to develop his game further and potentially break into the first team. The club has a strong reputation for nurturing young talent, and with the right guidance and support, Gwanzura has the potential to become a key player for the Canaries in the future.
The 6ft 3in center back has once been selected for Zimbabwe’s under-20s and will be working to get his place in the Zimbabwe senior national team.
