Admiral Muskwe Moves To Finland

Admiral Muskwe, the former Zimbabwe Warriors talented forward, has officially signed a one-year contract with IFK Mariehamn, a club competing in the Finnish Premier Division,  the Veikkausliiga.

This move comes after a week-long training period with the team, during which Muskwe showcased his skills and fit within the squad. His transfer marks a new chapter in his career following the termination of his contract with Harrogate Town in England.

Muskwe began his professional career in England and graduated from Leicester City Academy before playing for several clubs in League One and the Championship including Luton Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Exeter City, and his most recent club, Harrogate Town. He also has five international caps with Zimbabwe Warriors.

Despite his potential, Muskwe faced challenges at Harrogate where he joined after half a year without a team, leading to the termination of his contract after playing a single game at the club. This situation has motivated him to seek a fresh start and an opportunity to revive his level of play.

In his first statements after signing, Muskwe expressed his excitement about joining IFK Mariehamn. He stated, ” I am very happy to be coming to IFK Mariehamn. I trained for a week at the beginning of the month and I was impressed by the quality and professionalism of the players and managers. This is the perfect environment for me to come into and start scoring goals, assisting, and winning games. I can hardly wait for the season to start,” says Admiral Muskwe speaking on the club website.

The signing is seen as a strategic move for both Muskwe and IFK Mariehamn. For Muskwe, it provides a platform to regain his form and confidence in a competitive league. For IFK Mariehamn, acquiring a player of Muskwe’s caliber adds depth to their attacking options as they aim to improve their standings in the league.
