Former Zimbabwe ‘Warriors’ talented young midfielder Kundai Benyu is poised to make a significant return to football after leaving the comfort of Europe to play in his native Zimbabwe where he is set to sign for Premier Soccer League giants Caps United.

Benyu is reportedly set to sign a contract that will keep him at the Green Machine until 2027, with an option for an additional year contingent upon his performances and availability.

The talented box-to-box midfielder was born in England to Zimbabwean parents, which provided him with a unique cultural background and a strong connection to his heritage. He began his football career in the youth academies of various clubs in England, showcasing his skills and determination from a young age. Benyu’s talent was evident, and he eventually signed with Ipswich Town, where he continued to develop as a midfielder.

His performances caught the attention of scouts, and he had stints with clubs such as the Scottish side, Celtic F.C., Helsingborgs IF of Sweden, and Vestri IF in the Icelandic league where he further honed his skills and showcased his potential on a larger stage.

After leaving Vestri IF, the Zimbabwean joined IBV for a season and left at the end of the 2022/23 season and has been a free agent ever since.
