Munashe Garan’anga Makes Instant Impact On Debut For Copenhagen

Zimbabwe Warriors defender Munashe Garananga made his official debut in the Danish Super Liga for Copenhagen on Sunday as the former KV Mechelen player made an immediate impact in the team’s 0-2 win away to Lyngby

The 23-year-old centre-back, who joined the Danish giants on the 8th of July 2024 after an impressive short spell at KV Mechelen was thrown straight into the first XI for his official debut in the Danish Super Liga as they take on Lingby in their opening league match for the season.

Garananga played full game and made 100 touches on the ball with 90 percent pass completion rate. The Zimbabwean won five out of six duels that he was involved in and had one interception with an overall rating of 7.4 over ten according to Sofarscore.

The former Young Warriors defender has been on the rise ever since he left Ubuntu Cape Town to join Dynamo Brest in Belarus in 2022. He played for Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova in 2023 before attracting interest in Belgium with KV Mechelen.

Copenhagen are looking to better their finishing position this season having ended the 2023-24 season on third position and will contest in the UEFA conference league alongside Brondby.
