Jonah Farbisch Joins A New Team In Germany

Zimbabwe Warriors rising midfielder Jonah Farbisch signed a two year contract with FC Erzgebirge Aue after leaving FC Magdeburg on Thursday 27 June 2024.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder who came from Hamburger SV II in the summer of 2023 opted for a move to a third division club due to lack of game time in the Bundasliga 2 with Magdeburg

During his time at the club, Fabisch was in the second division squad six times, but did not play. He played 19 times for the club’s U-23 team in the NOFV Oberliga Süd, scoring ten goals and providing two assists.

Erzgebirge who finished on position six in the third Bundasliga division last season confirmed the acquisition of Farbisch on their website.

“FC Erzgebirge has signed another attacking player in Jonah Farbisch. The 22-year-old is versatile, was groomed at FC Hamburger and is moving in from FC Magdeburg to Lobnitzal for two years.

Farbisch who is still eligible to represent Kenya or Germany, made his international debut with Zimbabwe Warriors in a World Cup qualifiers encounter on 14 November 2021 in a 1–1 draw against Ethiopia.
