Maswanhise Leaves Leicester City After 12 Years.

Tawanda Maswanhise has confirmed his departure from Leicester City a club he started at when he was only 9-years of age.

The 21-year-old forward who is currently in camp with Zimbabwe Warriors, confirmed his departure yesterday in an Instagram post.

“After 12 Years @lcfc my time has come to an end.

I want to thank the players and coaching staff throughout my journey at the club. I would also like to thank the fans for their massive support as I really enjoyed representing the club. Thanks for the beautiful memories #GodIsGood”, said Maswanhise.

The talented forward has worked his way up from the under-10s to the Under-21s level where he had risen to become one of the shinning youngsters in the Foxes development squad featuring in all 29 matches scoring 10 goals in his debut season with the Premier League 2 side during 2021/22 season.

In the same season Maswanhise was also included in the senior team match day squad against Manchester united by Brendan Rodgers to give him a first team experience.

Last season he has featured in 10 premier league 2 matches scoring six goals in the process and was named Leicester City development side player of the season.

However the talented forward who can also play as a midfielder has been looking for a new home after failing to breakthrough to the Foxes senior team.

Last month Maswanhise was at Stockport County for trials where he impressed for the development side scoring a hattrick against Brentford.

Stockport County will be participating in the English league one next season after winning the league two championship.

Meanwhile Masvanhise who was born in Zimbabwe before moving to the United Kingdom at the age of two is currently with Zimbabwe Warriors where he made his debut in the four nations tournament and are due to play Bafana-Bafana in the fourth round of the 2026 World cup qualifiers in South Africa.
