Moyo Makes Immediate Impact At Chorley

Zimbabwe Warriors forward David Moyo has had an impressive start to life at Chorley F. C since joining the National League North side on the 12th of September 2023 until the end of the season .

The 28-year-old Zimbabwe-born and England raised striker first introduced himself to the team with an assist on his debut after coming on as a substitute in the 63rd minute with the team trailing 0-1 against Runcorns Linnets. In the 70th minute Moyo leapt up higher than everyone else in the box to intercept a cross before flicking the ball down to Hazelhurst who fires it past the goalie to equalize 1-1 and force a rematch in the FA cup second qualifying round.

Moyo made his first start away to Runcorns Linnets three days after in the replay of the FA Cup second qualifying round and opened the scores in the first 24th minute with his first goal for the team as they went on to win 3-1 to proceed to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup where they will play against Curzon Ashton.

Moyo kicked-off his career with Northampton Town and has abundance of experience having played in the National League North, National League, League Two, Scottish Premier League and Scottish Premiership.

He recently had a stint out on loan at Barnet, before his contract with League Two side Barrow expired this summer. He will be looking forward to continue with his good goal scoring form in the Vanarama national league north.

He has five international caps with Zimbabwe Warriors so far having first called to the national team in 2020 for the Africa cup of nations qualifyer and was part of the team that participated at the Africa cup of nations finals in Cameroon 2021.
