Liverpool Fans Hail Isaac Mabaya For Impressive Cameo Against Manchester United
Liverpool Fans have singled out Isaac Mabaya for praises despite 4-0 loss against Manchester united in the Bangkok Century cup preseason encounter on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old British Zimbabwean natural midfielder who in the last 18 months has rather successfully learned the role of a forward thinking right-back in the Reds U18s, was handed his first senior start by manager Jurgen Klopp against arch rivals Manchester united and had a decent outing leaving fans expressing their delight on social media.
Though Mabaya was partly responsible for Jadon Sancho’s opening goal, after failing to clear the ball away, his overlapping runs down the right flank and a block to deny Marcus Rashford’s goal bound shot seems to have done enough to overshadow his earlier mistake.
Here is a selection of some of the tweets posted by Liverpool fans following Mabaya’s 35 minutes Cameo before replaced by Melkamu Frauendorf.
The England U18 international is guaranteed to have more senior team minutes during the preseason as Liverpool is scheduled for another preseason encounter against Crystal Palace during the week before leaving for a training camp in Austria.
Mabaya is one of the British born youngsters with Zimbabwean roots being tracked by Zimbabwe Warriors technical team.
His father is willing to help convince Mabaya to switch alligiance and represent Zimbabwe at senior level if leadership and administration improved in the running of football in the country.
