Mushekwi Scores His First CSL Goal Of The Season
Zimbabwe international veteran forward and last season’s Chinese league one top scorer Nyasha Mushekwi dispelled any fears that he might slow down on his return to Chinese Super League after scoring his first goal for Zhejiang against Dalian Professional on Thursday.
The 34-year-old scored in the 70th minutes to level the scores at 1-1 after trailing from the first half.
Mushekwi’s goal wasn’t just the salve of a single point, however – it is also the club’s second goal in the CSL so far- and marks Mushekwi’s third season of scoring in the Chinese Super League.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star, started in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Pro in 2018, scoring 15 goals in 20 appearances.
He did not feature much for Dalian Pro in the 2019 season, managing only three goals in eleven appearances before he left for Zhejiang Greentown in the Chinese League One.
The former Zimbabwe Warriors forward continued to prove himself a man for the moment, coming off his heroics of last season where he helped the team back in the Chinese top tier scoring 23 goals to claim the golden boot award.
The goal is Mushekwi’s first in four appearances, three starts and one substitution.
Zhejiang will play Guangzhou City on Monday in their next round of the Chinese Super League.
