Warriors Move To Bafoussam

Zimbabwe Warriors will depart Yaounde this afternoon to their group B base in Bafoussam ahead of their opening encounter against Senegal on the 10th of January.

The Warriors who have been camping in Yaounde since their arrival in Cameroon on the 31st of December, will travel nearly 300km about half an hour flight to Bafoussam, the largest city in the highlands of western Cameroon, where they will play their first two group games.

Skipper Knowledge Musona arrived last night to bring the number of players in camp to twenty.

Former Leicester city and Luton Town forward Admiral Muskwe is expected to arrive today before the team depart Yaounde.

Jordan Zemura who has been caught up at his base in Bournemouth due to Covid-19 outbreak at the club, will join up with the Warriors in Bafoussam after the 6th of January.

The Warriors have been training twice a day since their arrival and are expected to conduct another light-session before they depart for Bafoussam where they will take on Senegal on the 10th and Malawi on the 14th of January at Kauokeng stadium.

They will then move back to Yaounde for their final group game against Guinea on the 18th of January at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.

Zimbabwe Warriors who have qualified for the fifth time at the Africa’s biggest soccer showcase, are still to go past the group stages of the competition.

After the group stage, the top two teams from each group and the four highest ranked third-placed teams will advance to the quarter finals of the competition.
