Warriors Arrived In Cameroon

Zimbabwe Warriors have arrived in Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of nations finals scheduled to begin on the 9th of January to 6th February.

The Warriors who left Harare in two groups on Thursday including the technical team and 17 players, arrived in Yaounde around 11am in the morning after connecting via Ethiopia.

Iceland based midfielder Kundai Benyu also touched down in the morning to join up with the Warriors squad.

The Vestri midfielder was included after a good season in the Iceland second tier where he featured in 16 of the team’s 22 league matches helping them finish 5th on the log with 36 points.

The Warriors who conducted their first training this evening becomes the third team to arrive in Cameroon and the first in group B.

Sudan and Ethiopia are the two early birds to arrive in Cameroon.

Other members of the squad that include Knowledge Musona, Jordan Zemura, David Moyo, Admiral Muskwe and Tinotenda Kadewere are expected to arrive before the 3rd of January.

Coach Norman Mapeza’s side are lined up to play Sudan on the 2nd of January and hopefully Cameroon on the 4th of January before they depart to their base in Bafoussam for the first two group matches.
