Warriors To Set Up Camp In SA

Zimbabwe Warriors’ 25-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers will pitch camp in Johannesburg, South Africa ahead of their clash against Bafana Bafana on Thursday.

The technical team along side local based players of goalkeepers Petros Mhari (FC Platinum), Taimon Mvula (Dynamos), Donovan Bernard (Chicken Inn) defenders Peter Muduwa (Highlanders), Godknows Murwira (Dynamos), midfielder Kelvin Madzongwe (FC Platinum), explosive winger Bill Antonio (Dynamos) and the Zambian duo of Thabani Kamusoko and Takudzwa Chimwemwe are expected to depart today (Monday) for Johannesburg where they will meet up with the rest of the squad.

Dynamos teenage sensation Bill Antonio who is currently the hottest youngster in Zimbabwe premiership was picked up to replace Macauley Bonne who once again gave an excuse to be excluded from squad due to his health issues.

The other foreign based players of Marvelous Nakamba, Tendayi Darikwa, Brendan Galloway, David Moyo (UK), Jonah Fabisch (Germany) and Bruce Kangwa (Tanzania) will fly direct to Johannesburg.

Another teenage star who is included in the squad, Leicester City’s Tawanda Maswanhise is still waiting on his Zimbabwean passport to be able to travel. He might miss the South Africa encounter but will be available for Ethiopia in Harare.

Khama Billiat has been named Captain in the absence of injured Knowledge Musona.

Zimbabwe Warriors will take on Bafana Bafana at FNB stadium on Thursday 11 November before playing Ethiopia on Sunday the 14th at the National Sports stadium in Harare.
