Baka Quietly Establishing Himself At CD Estepona

Spain-based former Zimbabwe Under-23 midfielder, Abubakar Moffat is quietly establishing himself as one of the key players at Spanish Tercera Division side CD Estepona after a good start to the season

The 23-year-old highly-rated central midfielder who signed from FC Malaga in July 2021 on a permanent deal, has been in impressive form for the Tercera Division side (fifth tier) ever since marking his debut against former team Malaga City in September.

Baka who has been used as a defensive midfielder at CD Estepona has not only entrenched his position in the team, but also established himself as one of the most important players in his first season at the club.

To put cherry on the sundae, the Zimbabwean has even been tipped as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league this season.

The Aces Youth Academy graduate has started in all CD Estepona’s six league matches played so far this season, scoring a goal and has been a huge influential figure in the midfield helping the team to a second place on the log with 14 points from six games – only a point behind log leaders Rincon F. C who have 15 points from as many games.

The team is currently unbeaten in the league having won four games and drawn two in six games.

Baka is tipped to be key for his club throughout the season as they seek to challenge for the league title and promotion to the Secunda Division.
