Another Injury Blow For Dube
Inform Warriors forward Prince Dube could be out for weeks after dealt another injury blow in Azam’ 1-3 win away to Rhino Rangers FC on Wednesday to reach the semi-finals of the Tanzanian FA Cup.
Dube (23), who has been a key player for Azam after scoring 17 goals in all competitions this season, limped off the pitch in just eight minutes into the game after what looks like a hamstring injury.
He was replaced by Obrey Chirwa as the Ice Cream Makers went on to win 1-3 to book a semi-final spot against the winner between Simba SC and Dodoma. The club is still to confirm nature and the extent of his injury.
This is the third time Dube has suffered an injury setback this season.
In late November 2020 the Zimbabwean star was sidelined for more than six weeks after injuring his ulnar of the left hand during their league defeat to Yanga SC and had to undergo surgery in South Africa.
On 6 March 2021, Dube suffered a thigh injury against Mwadui FC and was out for two weeks.
Despite injuries, Dube has remained Tanzania’s top striker leading the top scorers chart with 14 league goals so far this season, followed by Simba’s Meddie Kagere on 11 goals.
Azam are on top of the log with 60 points from 30 games and have 3 games left to complete the season.
