How The Warriors Could Line-Up Against Botswana
ZIMBABWE WARRIORS Coach Zdravko Logarusic revealed his 23-man squad on Monday for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana, and Soca263 takes a look at how the squad will line up against the Zebras.
A lot of new faces in coach Zdravko Logarusic’s squad will hope to be given the chance to impress when the Warriors take on Botswana in their opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification on Thursday evening.
The absence of regular goal minders like George Chigova, Elvis Chipezeze and Edmore Sibanda gives Martin Mapisa the chance to prove his worth in goal, and while Ariel Sibanda and the ever present Talbert Shumba will be equally eager to start in Botswana, Mapisa will likely be given the nod.
In defence Loga is expected to bring in back the regular center-back combination of Alec Mudimu and Teenage Hadebe.
Zambia based Jimmy Dzingai could occupy the right-back position whilst Victor Kamhuka could be set to receive his debut on the left back position- the place that was naturally fit for the now unavailable US-based Tendai Jirira, who is feared to have missed his flight after failing to arrive on schedule.
The Warriors Coach also affirmed that Nyasha Munetsi and Tinotenda Kadewere are out of the fixture as Zifa failed to organize a private plane for them to come as per required Covid-19 precautions by the French government.
However, the experienced Thabani Kamusoko and Ovidy Karuru are expected to stake their claims for spots in the midfield with Kudakwashe Mahachi and Knowledge Musona’s places in the first eleven also guaranteed.
As the Warriors miss the red hot forward Tino Kadewere and hitman Knox Mutizwa or Prince Dube upfront, Loga has limited choice upfront. Only Terrence Dzvukamanja and Evans Rusike are available to lead the attack.
Here is our Warriors predicted XI vs Botswana.
