The Zimbabwe Warriors men’s national team will assemble in Durban, South Africa, where they are expected to conduct a three-day training camp ahead of Zimbabwe’s Group C home game against Benin at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday.

The contingent of 10 local-based players that include Dynamos goalkeeper Martin Mapisa, defender Emmanuel Jalai, Simba Bhora’s young center-back Isheanesu Mauchi, Ngezi Platinum midfielder Richard Hachiro, and six Scottland F.C players of Khama Billiat,  Walter Musona, Godknows Murwira, Peter Muduwa,  Mthokozisi Msebe, and Tymon Machope was the first to arrive in Durban yesterday, and they will be joined by their foreign-based counterparts starting from today.

Nyasha Munetsi, Jordan Zemura, Tawanda Maswanhise, Andrew Rinomhota, Knowledge Musona, and Tawanda Chirewa are expected to arrive in camp today alongside the South Africa-based duo of Terrence Dzvukamanja and Washington Arubi.

Munashe Garananga, Gerald Takwara, and Marley Tavaziva could arrive on Tuesday as they remain to play their last club games before the international break.

The match against Benin is critical, as it could significantly impact their chances of qualifying for the next World Cup. The players and coaching staff are aware of the stakes and are committed to delivering a strong performance.

The Warriors will then travel away to Uyo, to play their sixth-round match against Nigeria on Tuesday 25th of March.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has been working diligently to address the infrastructure issues at home, but until these are resolved, the team will continue to seek alternative venues for their preparations.

Warriors are currently anchoring group C with two points from four matches. The group winner will directly qualify for the World Cup, and the runner-up could potentially compete in the second round to advance to inter-confederation play-offs
