Mushekwi’s Prolific Goal-Scoring Form Continues As He Opened His Account In The First League Game For His New Team
Nyasha Mushekwi’s goal-scoring prowess continues once again as he opened his account for his new club, Dalian Kuncheng, in their first league game of the season on Sunday as they registered a 1-2 win over Nanjing in the Chinese League One encounter.
The 37-year-old forward, who joined the club in late December after leaving Yunnan Yukun upon their promotion to the top-flight league, has had a successful career in various clubs across China having previously played for clubs such as Zhejiang Greentown and Dalian Yifang where he established himself as a formidable forward in the Chinese football league helping in three promotions, winning the Golden Boot twice, Chinese League One Player of the season twice, and an all-time scoring record of 94 goals in 143 Chinese League One matches and 54 goals in 91 Chinese Super League matches.
His experience and goal-scoring prowess have made him a sought-after player, and his move to Dalian Kun’ City marks a new chapter in his career.
Mushekwi’s moment of brilliance came in the 63rd minute when he found the back of the net with a well-placed shot from inside the box. The goal not only doubled the scores for Dalian Kuncheng who were leading by a goal to nil from the 55th minute but also served as a testament to Mushekwi’s continuous ability to perform at a higher level despite his age.
The match however ended in a 1-2 win after Nanjing put a goal back in the 87th minute to reduce the deficit.
Dalian Kuncheng City or Dalian Huayi aims to maintain its good start in the Chinese League One and hopes Mushekwi’s goal-scoring form continues in their maiden season in the second tier.
