Adam Chicksen Made A Surprise Move To Working

Zimbabwe international Adam Chicksen made a surprise move on Saturday after signing for the National League outfit, Working football club from Sky Bet League Two side Notts County.

The 33-year-old left-back joins on loan until January 2025 after making three appearances across all competitions for the Magpies and could make the move permanent if he performs well at the new club as per the club’s website.

The experienced defender slotted straight into Working first XI after signing and played a full game as the team drew 1-all against York City on Saturday.

Chicksen who was born in England to an English mum and a Chinese-Zimbabwean father came through the MK Dons youth setup, joining Brighton & Hove Albion in 2013. He also had spells with Charlton Athletic, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers

Chicksen has been hugely successful at the Magpies, making 133 appearances and scoring 12 goals, with 11 of those coming in the 2022-23 season, where he played an influential role in Notts getting promoted via the play-offs.

The left-back received his first Zimbabwe international call in 2018 when he took part in a four-nation tournament hosted by Zambia.

The competition included  Angola, South Africa and the hosts Zambia.

However, he could not be involved in competitive games, including the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt, because he had no Zimbabwean passport.

After acquiring his passport Chicksen received his first and second official call  for Zimbabwe in the Africa cup of nations qualifier against Botswana and Zambia
