Another Defeat For Marvelous Nakamba’s Luton Town, But What A Great Shift He Has Had

Luton Town remain pointless in the premier league after suffering their fourth defeat in a row as they lost 1-0 to Fulham on Saturday, but Marvelous Nakamba was outstanding in the middle of the park.

The Zimbabwean anchorman battled in the midfield to win any loose scraps and was outstanding in defence and in ball recoveries against the likes of Andreas Pereira, Harrison Reed and star midfielder Joao Palhinha who returned to Fulham first XI after a failed deadline day move to Bayern Munich.

Nakamba played full game and had an 85% pass accuracy rate, won seven out of eleven duels he was involved in, blocked two shots, one clearance, one interception and smashing a massive six tackles more than any other on the field, according to sofarscore ratings.

Rob Edwards’ side could have capitalized on the chances they created in the first half, but they failed to do so, giving Fulham the chance to break the deadlock in the 64th minutes with Carlos Vinicious’ goal proving the difference and securing a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage.

Luton Town remain at the bottom of the table and are facing Wolvermpton Wanderers in their next premier league match on the 23rd of September 2023.
