Blinking Bill Staking Claim For First Team Opportunity At Mechelen

Bill Antonio is currently enjoying life at Kv Mechelen after kick-starting the new season on a high note and is doing everything he can to be ready to take his chance if a first-team opportunity comes knocking on his door during the season.

The 21-year-old has began the 2023/24 season like a roof on fire after scoring in the first two matches of the season to lead the Young Kv Menchelen on top of the 2nd VFV national league B (fourth tier) log table with six points from two games.

The former Dynamos forward and Prince Edward academy graduate first opened his account for the season in a 3-0 win against Diegem Sport on the 30th of August 2023 before scoring his second on his 21st birthday the 3rd of September in a 2-1 win against SK Londeezeel.

The Dzivarasekwa born star has thrived for the under-23s at Kv Mechelen since joining the club on a two -year deal plus another two option to renew in September last year scoring seven goals in 22 appearances and made a single appearance in the first team in January this year as an unused substitute in a 2-0 loss Belgian Professional league encounter against Zult Waragem.

Antonio who was sent straight to the team’s reserve side on his arrival from Dynamos, looks to have settled well now and is beginning to fight for a place in the senior team and could be seen involved more often in the senior team this season if his current form is anything to go by.
