Liverpool Completed The Signing Of Trey Nyoni From Leicester City

English premier league giants Liverpool have completed the signing of Zimbabwe teenage sensation Trey Nyoni from Championship side Leicester city for an undisclosed fee.

The 16-year-old has joined the Reds’ youth set-up after a decade in foxes academy having joined as a six year old kid. Nyoni confirmed his switch to Liverpool in an Instagram post.

The highly rated attacking midfielder said: “I am grateful to all the players and staff at the club who have helped me develop over the past 10 years and I wish nothing but success to everyone at the club.”

Nyoni who is eligible to play for Zimbabwe through his parentage, was selected to represent England U16s after impressing in Leicester city academy where he featured for both u18s and u21s at only 15-years of age. He Turned 16 in June 2023.

Last season the lanky midfielder featured in 13 of Leicester city u18s’ 22 matches, registering two goals and one assist as the foxes finished ninth in a 12 team log table. He also made two appearances in the FA Youth Cup.

Nyoni also scored and assisted on his debut for England’s Under-16s last August in a 3-2 victory over Italy, and has since made a further six appearances at international youth level.

He is expected to further his development at Liverpool academy where he will be part of the u18s team.

Nyoni joins Isaac Mabaya another young forward with Zimbabwean heritage who is also at Liverpool F. C with the u19s.
