Kadewere’s Lyon Exit Confirmed As RCD Mallorca Completes Loan Move

Tinotenda Kadewere has completed his Olympique Lyonnais exit to join Spanish Laliga side RCD Mallorca on a loan deal with a permanent option worth up to £10 million, it has been confirmed.

The 26-year-old Warriors forward who is currently under contract with the French ligue 1 side until 2024, opted to settle for RCD Mallorca over several other options that were available for him including Royal Valladolid and Germany bundasliga side Strasbourg F. C.

RCD Mallorca are currently seventh position on the log with four points from four games played so far.

Kadewere leaves Lyon after spending two seasons at the club scoring 11 goals and three assists in 48 appearances.

The arrival of new coach Peter Bosz, who replaced Rudi Garcia in the Lyon dugout, saw a change of fortunes for the Zimbabwe international, who fell down the pecking order, especially after the return of Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal.

Kadewere only made 15 appearances in the Ligue 1 last season scoring a goal to his name with his last league match played on April 20, 2022 for Olympique Lyonnais versus Brest

He will become the first Zimbabwean player to play in the Spanish Laliga.
