David Moyo Joins English Football League Two After Leaving Scotland
Zimbabwe Warriors center forward David Moyo has joined English Football League Two side Barrow AFC after leaving Scottish Championship side Hamilton Academical in May.
The 27 year old Zimbabwe-born forward was announced by the EFL League two side (which is the fourth tier in English Football hierarchy) on Monday after completing a one year contract, subject to international clearance.
The Zimbabwean who impressed during a trial stinct at Barrow, scored 9 goals in 38 appearances in the Scottish Championship for Hamilton Academical last campaign, and also contributed with 3 assists.
Moyo began his career with Northampton Town, making his professional debut against Bradford City in the FA Cup before moving to St Albans.
He joined Hamilton in 2019 and made 93 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals in the process including against Scottish giants Motherwell and Rangers making himself popular among the fans.
He had signed a new three-year deal with The Accies in 2020, but left the club this summer, reaching an agreement with the Scottish side to seek a new challenge and a move to the EFL.
The center forward was part of the Zimbabwe Warriors squad that took part at the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 tournament in Cameroon earlier this year and has been capped 5 times for the national team.
Barrow have opened the League two season on a positive note and are fourth on the log after winning their first two matches against Stockport and Bradford City, respectively.
