Musona Nominated For Asian Player Of The Month For December
Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona continues to be recognized for his recent rise in form at Al Tai after nominated for the Western Asia region Player of the month for December 2021.
The Award which is conducted by the Asian Football Federations is opened to fans to choose the best player in the western Asian region for the month, based on many criteria- mainly the player’s role in influencing the results of his team through goals and assists.
The team’s position on the log is also considered, in addition to the importance of the matches the player featured in, both at club and international level.
According to Asian Football Confederation official website, the 31-year-old Musona led Al Tai to two victories in December, scoring three goals in the process – two goals against Al-Faisaly and an important winning goal against Al-Hazm on Sunday to lift his team up from the drop zone to eighth place on the log standings with 19 points from 15 games.
Musona is nominated alongside fellow Saudi Arabian league player and Al-Ittihad star Harun Kamara, Abdullah Diaby of Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates, Yassin Al-Bakhit (Umm Salal, Qatar), Abdulaziz Al-Muqbali (Al-Seeb of Oman), Mahmoud Al-Mawas (Iraqi Police, Iraq), Tamer Siam (The Palestinian Hebron Youth, Palestine), Shabib Al-Khalidi (Kazma Al-Kuwaiti).
The western Asian region which is considered the largest region in Asia, is comprised of 12 countries that includes Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, State of Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syrian Arab Republic, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Voting is continuing on AFC website and will be closed on Thursday.
Musona currently has five goals two assists in 12 matches for Al Tai so far this season.
He is scheduled to join the Warriors this evening before the team depart for Bissouma some 300km from Yaounde tomorrow.
