MAPEZA IN BULLISH MOOD AHEAD OF FC PLATINUM’S CLASH AGAINST SIMBA SC
Former Chippa United and FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is adamant the Platinum miners have the ammunition needed to ‘finish the job’ in Wednesday’s CAF First round 2nd leg match against Simba SC in Tanzania.
FC Platinum are on pole position after a 1-0 win from the first leg played at the National Sports Stadium two weeks ago.
Mapeza told reporters on his arrival in Tanzania that their mission is to finish the job they started back home by beating Simba SC to progress to the group stages.
“We have come to do the same task of seeking victory and we are ready to get the win and qualify,” said Mapeza confidently
“There is nothing else we need, all we know is our opponents are psychologically prepared and we know they are a tough team to play at home, we respect them but we are not afraid of them.
“We got a 1-0 win back home, we should have scored more but even the slim advantage is good for us because we will strive to score goals away, we will push them and the more they move forward, we have the chance to kill them off on counterattack,” said Mapeza
FC Platinum, are looking to progress to the money-phase league for the third time in a row, but definitely not without a fight from a side who is leaving no stone unturned to ensure victory is achieved and guarantee their progression to the CAF group stages after knocked out in the preliminary round of the last edition.
According to Ghanaian African Football specialists Nuhu Adams, Simba SC players have been promised about US$105,000 to be shared among themselves if they managed to beat FC Platinum in Wednesday’s encounter.
The match will be on at 16H00 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium In Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and it is likely to be shown live on ZBCTV.
