Munetsi’s Unstoppable Form Triggers Title Hopes For Reims

Nyasha Marshall Munetsi’s current outstanding form in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats has sparked a turnaround at Stade Reims’ offering a beacon of hope in the team’s title ambitions.

The 27-year-old tireless midfielder scored another goal in Reims’ 2-0 win over Tinotenda Kadewere’s Lyon on Sunday propelling the team to third position on the log table with 13 points from seven games and just a point away from the log leaders Monaco who are on 14 points from as much matches.

Munetsi has been in great form for Stade Reims this season scoring two goals and three assists in seven Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches, giving himself a total of five goal contribution in seven matches. Reims have scored a total of 13 goals so far this season and he has been involved in five of those goals so far.

Beside the goals, Munetsi has been exceptional in the middle of the park for Stade Reims making an average of 4.9 ball recoveries per game, 2.3 tackles and a total of 4.7 duels won per game.

The Zimbabwean has also covered more distance than any other player in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats so far, running a remarkable average of 13km per match.

Reims have been an average side in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats log table finishing in bottom ten position for the past three seasons.

In 2020/21 season Reims finished 14th position on the log with 42 points from 38 games. In 2021/22 season they finished 12th on the log with 45 points from 38 matches and last season they posted a high of 52 points finishing on 11th position from as much matches.

The Zimbabwean’s performances has invigorated Stade Reims and he could become the catalyst that the team needs for their title ambitions this season.
