Jordan Zemura Return A Timely Boost For Bournemouth As Automatic Promotion Battle Heats Up

The presence of Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura in Bournemouth match day squad for today’s clash against Blackburn is a welcoming sight as the fight for automatic promotion heats up and could go down to the wire as Nottingham Forest battle Bournemouth for second spot.

Bournemouth who are currently occupying the final automatic promotion place in the Championship with three points ahead of Forest, who sit in third place ahead of Huddersfield, will clash against Blackburn on Saturday before their blockbuster encounter against Forest on Tuesday.

The winner between the two teams could finish second on the log and clinch the automatic promotion place.

Bournemouth are still in the driving seat, but they have struggled for a win oflate. The injury to one of their key players, Jordan Zemura, who has been sidelined by a hamstring injury since the 9th of April, could not make things better for the Cherries, having only picked up one win in their last four games which the Zimbabwean missed.

Zemura joined first team training this week and could play a role in today’s encounter against Blackburn Rovers.

His return is a timely boost as the team seek to maintain their hold on the second spot.

A win against Blackburn today will postpone Fulham’s hopes of clinching the title and put the Cherries on a good advantage but cannot be promoted as Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield still capable of catching them.

If Bournemouth drop points at Blackburn, Fulham will lift the Championship title today and the Cherries will be left to fight it all against Nottingham Forest for the second spot.

The Cherries can clinch promotion by bettering their points haul, and that of Huddersfield, across the three days’ fixtures.

Their last league match is against Millwall on the 7th of May.

Forest are three points behind the Cherries, but on the same goal difference and will play Swansea today aiming for a win to get level on points against automatic promotion rivals Bournemouth – making their mouthwatering encounter at Vitality Stadium, on Tuesday, May 3 all to play for and the biggest match of the Championship league this season.
